Position Overview
We’re currently seeking a skilled CNC Miller Setter/Operator to support our growing workload.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience using Heidenhain or Fanuc controls.
- Good understanding of 3, 4 and 5 axis machines.
- Knowledge of Aerospace engineering.
- Knowledge of Bridgeport, DMG, YCM and Hedelius machines is advantageous.
- A strong team ethic and willingness to communicate effectively with your peers.
- Programming knowledge advantageous, but not essential.
Working Pattern
- Full Time (38 hours p/w) with flexible start/finish times and lunchtime finish on a Friday

Process Engineer
Location: Chelmsford

Position Overview
The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for complex components used in aerospace and defence applications. This role involves close collaboration with production engineers, production teams, quality assurance, and customers to ensure processes are efficient, repeatable, and compliant with industry regulations (e.g., AS9100).
Experience, Qualifications & Desired Attributes:
Develop, document, and optimise manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
Select tooling, fixturing, and measuring equipment to improve quality and reduce cycle times.
Support quality department by aiding root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for process-related issues.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
Support PPAP and IV submissions in accordance with aerospace and defence standards and customer expectations.
Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and equipment where applicable.
Provide technical support to machinists and operators on the shop floor.
Ensure all processes comply with relevant industry standards and customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Degree/Degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/process engineering role preferably in a precision machining environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining (3, 4, and 5-axis milling/turning), GD&T, and tooling principles.
- Experience with aerospace/defence quality standards (AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP).
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with special processes (e.g., heat treatment, surface finishing, NDT).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Hands-on experience with quality inspection techniques.

Scheduler
Position Overview
The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of work through the machining, painting, assembly and inspection facilities to ensure on-time delivery, optimal machine utilisation, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. This role leverages the Epicor ERP system to manage production schedules, material availability, capacity planning, and work order prioritisation in a high-precision, AS9100-compliant manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and adjust live daily and weekly production schedules using Epicor ERP.
- Release and prioritize work orders based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability.
- Balance machine load across CNC machining centres, turning centres, and secondary operations.
- Monitor schedule adherence and take corrective action to mitigate delays.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supply chain to resolve constraints.
ERP System Management (Epicor)
- Utilise Epicor’s scheduling, MRP, and job management modules.
- Maintain accurate data for routings, work centres, lead times, and capacity parameters.
- Review and act on MRP messages and exception reports.
- Generate production performance and on-time delivery reports.
- Ensure data integrity and timely updates to job statuses.
Customer & Delivery Management
- Align production schedules with customer requirements and contractual delivery dates.
- Communicate delivery risks and recovery plans proactively.
- Support program managers and customer service with schedule commitments.
Capacity & Resource Planning
- Analyse machine capacity, labour availability, and material flow.
- Identify bottlenecks and collaborate with operations to optimize throughput.
- Support long-term capacity planning initiatives.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure scheduling processes comply with AS9100 and aerospace traceability standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, etc.).
- Support audits and documentation requirements as needed.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of production scheduling experience in a similar production environment
- Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP (Kinetic), or we will consider experience with similar ERP systems
- Strong understanding of MRP, capacity planning, and shop floor control.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality systems (AS9100 preferred).
- Proficiency in standard software packages including Microsoft Excel and production reporting tools.
- Demonstrable experience in managing a stable system where the production schedule is always live, accurate and the single point of production control
- ASCM/APICS CPIM certification (or in progress).
- Experience scheduling CNC machining operations.
- Familiarity with aerospace customer requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills
- Proactive and results-oriented approach to production planning
Working Pattern
- Full Time (38 hours p/w) with flexible start/finish times
- Occasional overtime may be required to support production demands.

Quality Inspector (Late Shift)

Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Quality Inspector to join our Quality Control Team on our Night Shift (hours 17.30 to 02.00).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of products, materials, or components to verify that they meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements in accordance with AS9100
- Maintain detailed records of inspection and testing results, including measurements, observations, and any defects or non-conformities found
- Ensure that products or processes adhere to established quality control standards and procedures, including compliance with industry regulations and safety standards
- Identify and document any defects, deviations, or non-conformities in products, materials, or processes and communicate this information to relevant personnel for corrective action
- Select random samples for inspection from production batches, shipments, or inventory to evaluate quality
- Conduct and document quality inspections of first article, in process and finished goods to ensure quality conforms to specified requirements, using measurement devices such as callipers, micrometers, shadow graph, digital height gauge and CMMs
- Report all non-conformances, unsafe conditions, broken or out of calibration equipment, procedures not in effect, to Team Leader
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance product quality and efficiency
- Perform visual and mechanical inspection functions against customer drawings with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Review & interpret customer requirements
- Inspecting raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity
- Assist in the implementation of 5S and other Lean techniques for developing operational excellence
- Support HSE projects with a goal to certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Comply with the company’s Health & Safety rules and regulations and help ensure compliance by all who enter or work at the company’s premises. Either directly or through those who report to you, support the work of the company’s H&S Committee
Experience & Qualifications and Desired Skills
- Extensive knowledge of Quality Control techniques
- Understand complicated engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances
- Be able to confidently use and operate the company’s measurement equipment, including micrometers, callipers, shadow graph, digital height gauge and the CMMs
- Willing to undertake or collaborate with defect root cause and analysis and suggest appropriate mitigation and preventative measures
- Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes
- The ability to perform a muti-task job and adjust priorities as instructed by the Team Leader
- Possess time management skills. Be able to take the initiative to meet deadlines and can prioritise workload with minimal supervision
- Pro-active approach to maintaining the Health & Safety of all employees.
- Working within a QMS and a working knowledge of AS9100 requirements
- Knowledge of Inspection and measurement techniques
- Ability to use mechanical measuring equipment, with CMM experience desirable
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Having the ability to conduct FAIRs to AS9102
- Experience of using structured problem-solving techniques desirable
- Experience of internal auditing to ISO9001 or AS9100 desirable, but not essential
- Experience with assisting with PPAP’s, APQP’s or PFMEA’s
- Understanding of SPC/SQC desirable, but not essential
- Not essential, but beneficial, would be a basic knowledge of the ISO45001 (H&S) and ISO14001 (Environmental) Standards
